From 31st July - 11th August, we ran our annual fully booked summer camp for ages 4-12 years. This years theme was Under The Sea! 50 children from around and outside Ealing joined us for 2 weeks to create a performance for an invited audience at the end. Some spaces were for children eligible for HAF funding and the rest were for paid spaces. The children were split into their appropriate age groups (4-7 years and 8-12 years) taking part in drama, dance, singing, arts and crafts and some baking.
Each day the youngsters spent an hour a day taking part in dance, singing and drama in the morning, then finishing the day with outside play and arts and crafts in the afternoon. The camp was filled with many laughs and everlasting memories!
All children began their performance with a beautiful song of Under The Sea, followed by The Deep Blue Sea and Yellow Submarine by ages 4-7 year olds, who then performed their drama session about Under Sea School and ending with an amazing dance piece by Cake By The Ocean. 8-12 year olds was up next with their breathtaking song pieces of A Whole New World and Octopus's Garden, a drama piece about Seaheroes and then ending the show with a superb dance piece by Finesse and Summertime.
We would like to say a massive thank you for Pinnacle Performing Arts for leading the dance sessions, Tessa Shrubsall for leading the drama sessions for ages 4-7 years and singing sessions for both age groups, Kemi Cameron, Aref Akbari, Dier Lu, Rebecca (Yunjia) Luo for assisting with the drama sessions and arts and crafts, Eslyn Davies for supporting the SEN children, Firdaws Ghari and Denise for supporting some of our activities and Annie for providing delicious lunches!
